I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a collection of candles from Morgan Le Fay, and they really are nothing short of enchanting. Each candle is a carefully composed work of art, with fragrance profiles that balance both depth and mystique.
This London-based brand, founded by Ronnie and Sol, has created a stunning collection of artisanal fragrances inspired by gothic romance and classic horror. Their vision translates beautifully into each candle, which arrives in sleek black gift boxes and is housed in elegant amber glass jars – that are not only reusable but also visually striking, adding a touch of gothic sophistication to any space.
I was sent four distinctive story scents from their core collection:
Love Potion – a seductive and bewitching blend that feels both playful and intoxicating. The floral notes of magnolia, rose, and Jasmine create a sense of stepping into a surreal garden, where everything feels heightened and almost too perfect. Love potion is a spellbinding scent.

Frostbite – this is crisp and chilling, evoking winter air and glacial stillness. The sharp eucalyptus and juniper hit first, clearing the senses like a brisk inhale of icy air. The delivery of the pine and spruce base anchors the fragrance, sending you to a snow-covered winter woodland, which is incredibly refreshing.

Kraken – deep, mysterious, and oceanic, with a dark, resinous undertone. I absolutely loved this because the powerful ocean water is refreshing and cleansing, while the mossy and damp-earth notes keep you grounded and natural.

Carmilla – the signature scent, inspired by J. Sheridan Le Fanu’s vampiric novella, weaving smoky incense, rosemary, guaiac wood and patchouli into a hauntingly romantic fragrance. In short, it feels like you are being drawn into a candlelit gothic tale which is intoxicating, alluring and just a little dangerous.

Each candle is uniformly labelled with its name, scent description, and number, creating a sense of order and identity that appeals to anyone who values aesthetic consistency.
The blends themselves are layered and complex, with stunning notes that include jasmine, pine, damp earth, magnolia, musk, rose, lavender, patchouli, clove, moss, and orange zest amongst many others emerging differently from candle to candle. Together, they all conjure atmospheres that are both calming and evocative and are perfect for quiet evenings, ritual spaces, or simply for transforming a room into something otherworldly.
What struck me most is how these candles capture the spirit of Morgan Le Fay: mysterious, powerful, and alluring. They are not just candles, but mood-setters – beautiful vessels of story and scent that transform a space, evoke powerful associations, and invite you into a world of gothic elegance.
A truly magical collection that blends artistry, storytelling, and fragrance into one unforgettable experience. But don’t just take my word for it – go and discover for yourself.

I was also kindly gifted a copy of this book, which I enjoyed immensely whilst burning the Frostbite candle – such a beautiful pairing.
